Here is the process for juniors who wish to present an IMGD MQP pitch for their senior year either for a 3 to 4 term MQP or for the new one-term MQP
Complete this form. Write out your plan as clearly and in as much detail as you've got. Don't pad or invent bits you're not sure of.
But wait! Don't send it in yet.
Then make sure your 2 page proposal goes through a feedback and revision process.
What you want is feedback on how to improve your plan and proposal, make it as realistic, specific, and appealing as possible. From faculty, you especially want to ask if there is anything that might keep it from gaining advisors when the time comes. When you've gathered feedback and made fixes, go around and get feedback again!
If you are interested or open to doing this project in the One-Term MQP project center, check the box at the top of the proposal sheet. Doing so does not lock you into joining 1TMQP!
Once you have revised your plan and are confident of its success, it's ready to submit.
If your pitch is approved, you get to pitch your MQP. It doesn't mean a faculty commitment to advise or student registrations. Those come later!
Email the refined pitch to gr-imgd-mqp-pitches@wpi.edu
Submissions due: Jan 30th
IMGD will hold an MQP pitch session on Academic Advising Day. Approved pitches will prepare a single slide and get a couple minutes to present their plan to faculty and fellow students. With luck, you'll get the advisors and student roles you need!
Despite the name, this is stage is really about tracking projects that have acquired the advisors and student roles they need to run. Greenlit means ready to go.
